MG as he is popularly known, was till recently, the Chief Information Officer of Mphasis. Backed by a deep and diverse 37 years of industry experience - involving Government (Railways), Global IT, Corporate Leadership and CIO experience, he has launched into the Executive Coaching and Leadership Consulting space.  He has recently qualified as a Professional Certified Coach of the International Coaching Federation, and is passionately committed to adding value to corporate managers and leaders through coaching and mentoring. He thrives on the class room experience and packs his workshop sessions with role plays, compelling story telling and visualisation catalysing powerful self-exploration. 

He had been with Mphasis, a Global IT services company for the last 15 years starting with the erstwhile EDS in 2001. During his long tenure in EDS and Mphasis, he held leadership positions in delivering IT services in Software Application Management, Infrastructure Outsourcing and BPO to International and Domestic Clients. He has acquired wide and deep experience in Global IT delivery servicing international clients largely in North America.

As the CIO, he had driven the automation and reengineering of Business processes for Mphasis. He had crystallisedhis CIO role as being a staunch ally of the Business and Functional leaders with his focus on aligning IT with Business outcomes and goals. He had designed and implemented a seamless and integrated IT architecture for Mphasis spanning Enterprise applications, Infrastructure and Info Security. He has left behind a legacy of a reliable, robust IT system in Mphasis, with the requisite flexibility and agility to align with the changing business needs of the company. Simplification of Legacy systems and Enhanced User experience has been his drivers in the recent years of CIO tenure. He has perfected a hybrid cloud strategy for Enterprise applications in Mphasis and has also established world class info security standards for Mphasis’ clients.

He is a Change Leader, known for implementing complex IT projects and innovative solutioning, including setting up delivery centres outside India (in Sri Lanka and Malaysia). His strength and success as CIO was in his fine balance between maximising the IT value to business while relentlessly driving down the cost of IT. 

He is an expert in consolidation and integration of IT having managed multiple acquisitions and mergers in his career in EDS and Mphasis. He had successfully enabled several critical corporate structural changes in Mphasis by innovations and swift realignment of IT with Business Outcomes.

Prior to his CIO stint, he had several leadership positions in EDS and Mphasis in managing Global IT delivery, and IT.

He has been a well-recognised CIO in India having been voted by his peers in CIO fora as a Top 50 CIO in India for three consecutive years from 2014-2016.He was also a member of the Technology Advisory forum for Airtel for three years. He has been a frequent speaker on panels on cloud computing in IT forums.

He was the convenor of the IT panel of Confederation of India Industry (CII) Karnataka in India in 2014-15 and was a member for 3 years, and has led several key initiatives for development of Entrepreneurship and IT adoption of industry in the Indian state of Karnataka.

His 32-year work experience includes a long stint in the manufacturing and transportation domain, when he worked for the Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers, prior to joining Mphasis. He held senior positions in the Railways, heading Train Operation and Manufacturing, Locomotive Maintenance, Administration, while   deploying IT in his assignments  

He is a Graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the Council of Engineering Institutions in London (Currently Engineering Council, UK), and has a Post graduate degree in Software Systems from BITS Pilani India. He is a 6-Sigma Green belt and a certified PMP.  PCC certification on Coaching from ICF is the latest arrow in his quiver.
